ARNHEM : Map of Arnhem inc DZ/LZs: - A1 colour map. mint reprint coloured map covering Arnhem, the River Rhine and, importantly, extends westwards to include the DZs and LZs used for the intial airborne assault in Operation Market Garden. Atlas zu Führung und Gefecht der verbundenen Waffen: This atlas was compiled to illustrate the doctrine in Führung und Gefecht . The clarity of the diagrams encapsulates the whole thesis of the text, and shows that the ‘air-land battle’ so beloved of the present day tacticians was in fact proposed and mapped by von Seeckt and the German General Staff as early as 1924! A set of 68 quality colour maps/plans are annotated (in German) to show how the tactics laid out in Führung und Gefecht would work - indeed how they did work in the Blitzkrieg style of warfare. Highly recommended, with or without the text. ISBN: 9781847914651
German Military Symbols: The German military symbols system was a superb method of indicating on maps and in publications what a unit was, and what its component parts were. Other books in English have attempted to show how the system worked, and what the symbols were, but none can compare with the sheer detail and comprehensive nature of this intelligence manual published jointly by American and British Intelligence in 1944. Every level of formations is covered, and every arm and service. Naturally German Army symbols predominate, but the Luftwaffe and the German Navy are also included. This reference text should be on the shelf of every military historian who is involved or interested in the German Forces during World War Two. ISBN: 9781847910110

Ideal as a primer or as a study aide-memoire, it allows an overview of the whole campaign which can then be supplemented in much greater detail from our other publications on Operation Overlord and all subsequent operations.
